From July 11th to13th, Cap_able came back home, to be part of one of the biggest textile exhibitions in Milan: Milano Unica💡
Our CEO Rachele Didero flew all the way from Boston to attend the event along side our co-founder Federica Busani. The team had the chance to engage with people from all around the world and to showcase the Manifesto Collection, which was highly appreciated by the audience. The event had a great turnout, and helped making lifelong connections.
To make our participation to Milano Unica even more special, on the occasion we launched the brand new product we have worked at in the past months: our technology that makes textile products able to shield facial recognition can now be applied to woven textile fabrics The Colombo Group, one of the biggest Italian textile developers and producers, was the key partner of this project and also its main promoter: not only they allowed us to use their facilities and access their deep know-how, but also supported the product launch by setting up a stand at Milano Unica, where people could try how the adversarial technology works.
But what does this development mean for Cap_able?
Woven textile fabrics open up new applications for adversarial clothing, making it possible to design a broader range of pieces, with new colors and patterns. Outerwear and accessories become easier to design and produce, and we could even think of applications beyond fashion.
July 11th was time for a double celebration: on that same day of the launch, we also filed the patent for this new development, adding the cherry on top months of research by an incredible team led by our CEO.
