Cap_able Empowers Future Leaders: Supporting the Net@ Project

In a world increasingly driven by technology, bridging the digital divide has become both a challenge and an opportunity. The Net@ project is a shining example of how education can empower young minds, ensuring they not only keep pace with rapid technological advancements but also develop the skills and confidence to shape the future.

What is the Net@ Project?

The Net@ project is a transformative initiative that originated in Israel, where it achieved remarkable success in fostering digital literacy and leadership among youth. Designed to provide young people at risk of being excluded from advanced educational opportunities with the tools for professional and personal growth, Net@ focuses on both technical skills and essential life skills. In 2017, the program was introduced in Italy, specifically in Milan and Turin, with the backing of the Fondazione Camis de Fonseca.

The program offers extracurricular courses targeting high school students and incorporates a peer-to-peer teaching model. Young instructors, aged 19 to 24, mentor participants in areas such as programming, web design, and digital networks, all while fostering critical soft skills like empathy, teamwork, and communication.

Cap_able's Collaboration with Net@

As a brand committed to innovation and social impact, Cap_able was honored to be invited by Net@ to speak to four different classes in two public high schools in Turin. This initiative allowed us to present Cap_able’s project in an inspiring and engaging manner. Two classes focused on a public speaking session and workshop, while the other two explored the startup aspect of our project.

Cap_able decided to take part in this initiative to support the Net@ project and contribute to its vision of empowering young minds through technology and education. These sessions provided students with valuable insights into the practical applications of technology, while also encouraging creativity and entrepreneurial thinking.

The impact of these sessions was tangible. Students who had never considered a future in technology began to see its potential as a tool for creativity and change. These workshops also emphasized inclusivity and community, aligning with Net@’s core principles of self-awareness, open-mindedness, and social responsibility.

An Inspiring Story of Vision and Leadership

An essential part of Net@'s story in Italy is the inspiring journey of the Italian founder of this initiative, who is also the founder of Intercultura. Now in her 80s, her groundbreaking experience as a high school exchange student in the United States during the mid-20th century exemplifies the power of education to transform lives. Winning a scholarship to spend a year in an American high school was a rare and extraordinary opportunity at the time. Her experience ignited a lifelong passion for fostering intercultural exchange and education, a legacy she continues to uphold through initiatives like Net@.

Looking Ahead Net@ is more than just a program; it’s a movement to democratize access to technology and inspire a generation of leaders who are empathetic, open-minded, and equipped to thrive in an ever-evolving world. As the program grows and adapts, it’s clear that its impact will be felt far beyond the classroom.

At Cap_able, we’re proud to have contributed to this journey and remain committed to supporting initiatives like Net@ that shape a brighter, more inclusive future.
